The Source of Insightful Mapping

Smarter Travel Gateway

Smarter journey planning for local communities

stg_logo_cmyk.jpgThe PIE Smarter Travel Gateway is a town centre mapping portal covering all local public transport modes as well as options for cycling, walking, mobility scooters and driving.  It provides details on all local authority amenities, on street parking options and disabled facilities, including blue badge parking and accessible toilets.

Barking and Dagenham Gateway

The mapping technology has been used very successfully by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. By providing a host of up to date information on local services, the Smarter Travel Gateway website has been designed to attract new visitors to every part of the borough and to help local residents to get the best out of council services.

It also allows service users to make informed decisions about greener ways of getting to their destination. Unlike other ‘green transport’ interactive websites, the walking and cycling routes do not follow the road network but their own unique paths through parks and open spaces. Information on cycle parking facilities is also available.

Visit the Barking and Dagenham website.

Camden and Islington Gateway

The Smarter Travel Gateway solution has also been used by Camden and Islington local authorities to give their constituents joined up information about accessible transport and parking, public transport and local services within Camden and Islington.

Using simple, interactive maps, visitors can look up amenities around a specified postcode or street, or use the ‘journey planning’ section to make travel plans.
